Lessons

Children (age 6 years and older) will be taught water safety skills in a fun environment. Level elements include: 1. Underwater breath control 2. Front float with streamline 3. Back float (supported) 4. Freestyle kick 5. Front crawl 6. Recover from a fall into the water

In the Novice 1 level swimmers will start to refine beginner level techniques. Skills include: 1. High elbow recovery 2. Correct flutter kick 3. Independent front breath 4. Independent back float 5. Introduction to breaststroke kick 6. Assisted back float to front swim

In Novice 2 children will perform front crawl for 30 feet, swim 15 feet on back, and begin elementary level competitive strokes. Skills include: 1. Independently multiple front breaths 2. Flutter while on back 3. Swimming while turning front to back 4. Diving basics 5. Introduction to Breaststroke arms 6. Introduction to dolphin kick 7. Introduction to front dive

The Race Ready class for swimmers who possess basic water safety skills and can swim on top of the water, not be afraid of deep water, and take instruction independently. We use a progressive curriculum to develop basic swimming skills for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. This class is designed to ready the swimmer to join the Pre-Competitive group.

These lessons are for adults 18 years old and over that are looking for basic swim instruction and/or fitness. Emphasis is placed upon, but not limited to, basic freestyle and backstroke technique.
